Our self perception of ourself, and others perceptions of us are completely different to one another. When we perceive ourselves we will usually have an optimistic view, but when others perceive us that is not always the case. When something goes wrong in a situation people tend to blame the situation instead of blaming themselves. Others perceiving this person however see things differently, and see this person as the reason for the problem. A lot of people are very concerned with their self image, because how others perceive them is important to them. If you perceive yourself well it creates an illusion that others will perceive you the same way. This isn't always true though. It is important to perceive yourself well, but that doesn't mean that everyone else will too. Someone may think that they are really humorous, and enjoyable, while others may think they are annoying and childish. It differs from person to person. When perceiving ourselves we often do things that we find totally justifiable to solve a problem. We think that it only makes sense to do this even though it might not favor others. Others however will not see this, and will think you are just being a jerk. Even though we think we can control what others think about us, we really can't.
